Rubio Supports Expanded Audit of Water Boards Permitting

(Sacramento) – Assemblywoman Blanca E. Rubio (D-Baldwin Park) asked the Joint Legislative Audit Committee to widen the scope of its audit of the state and regional Water Boards MS4 permitting to include cities throughout Los Angeles County.  “While it is important that California remains in compliance with the federal regulations, and requirements of the Clean Water Act, it is also critical that permits are not so stringent to cause cities into an uncertain fiscal imbalance,” Assemblywoman Rubio told the JLAC members. Rubio, State Assembly Celebrate Immigrant Heritage Month

(Sacramento) – Assemblywoman Blanca E. Rubio (D-Baldwin Park) and the State Assembly recognized the importance, impact and contributions of California’s 10 million immigrants by approving House Resolution 44. The resolution designates June 2017 as Immigrant Heritage Month and encourages all Californians to celebrate the many forms of immigrant heritage. Speaking on behalf of herself and the Legislative Latino Caucus, Assemblywoman Rubio, who came to the U.S. from Mexico when she was a small child, said “As immigrants, once we have made it into this wonderful country, most of us want to be successful, want to be contributing members of society and we want to see a better life for our kids. HR 44 recognizes the countless contributions all immigrants have made to our society.” Here’s more in this Assembly Access video.
