Hello and happy January to our wonderful community! I hope you enjoyed the holidays and are well-rested, ready to embrace the New Year. We anticipate a very busy year ahead, with the legislature in full swing, brimming with new faces and fresh ideas.
It is my pleasure to represent the 48th Assembly District in the California State Legislature. This term marks my 8th year as a legislator in the California State Assembly. It is an honor to serve over 498,000 residents in our district and collaborate with nine cities across the San Gabriel Valley. I am excited to share our December 2024 Newsletter and ensure our communities stay up-to-date on state-related matters.

Baldwin Park Holiday Parade
This year’s holiday parade in Baldwin Park was truly special! Thank you to all who attended, thank you to those who performed and those who helped make this event possible. It is so energizing and uplifting to be a part of a community like ours full of warmth, laughter, celebration and cheer! I can’t wait for next year.
Covina Holiday Parade
What a beautiful and festive experience the Covina Christmas Parade was! Thank you to Covina and all in attendance for creating such a fun and dazzling atmosphere this Christmas season!
Irwindale Tree Lighting
There is nothing more heartwarming than seeing children enjoying the magic the holiday season brings. Thank you to the City of Irwindale for creating such a beautiful and welcoming event for the community.
Santa Clothes Project, Baldwin Park
Team Rubio was happy to attend the Santa Clothes Project in Baldwin Park. Through this initiative, staff were paired with children and helped them pick out clothes of their choice for Christmas. Thank you to Walmart for your partnership, as well as the City of Baldwin Park and Baldwin Park Unified School District.

Congratulations and a huge thank you to all outgoing members of the 48th District, you all come from varied backgrounds, positions and areas of our community, but your willingness to take on a leadership role and make change in your community unites you. Swearing in Ceremony Legislative Year 2025
Another year begins in the legislature! I am so grateful to be here in the California State Capitol, representing and advocating for the needs of my constituents and community members. Thank you to the 48th District for being the reason I do this work, it is truly the honor of a lifetime to serve as your assemblywoman.

Cal Fresh Fruit and Vegetable EBT Pilot Program:
A reminder to check out this program: families can once again earn dollar-for-dollar rebates when they buy fresh fruits and vegetables with their CalFresh card at participating retail locations – up to $60 each month – just in time for the holiday season. The CalFresh Fruit and Vegetable EBT Pilot will be available for a limited time, subject to funding availability. For more information and participating store locations go to: MasFrescoPlusEBT.org
