Rubio Hosts Holiday Toy Drive Event

WEST COVINA – Assemblywoman Blanca E. Rubio (D-Baldwin Park) was proud to partner with Charter Spectrum, enlisting the help of the entire community to host the Inaugural Holiday Toy Drive. The toy drive began on November 20th with the goal of collecting and donating gifts for underserved children living in the 48th district. Donations were accepted at various locations throughout the district, including Courtyard Marriott of Baldwin Park, Duarte Chamber of Commerce, Citrus Valley Association of Realtors, and many more.

“It is heartwarming to see the community come together to provide for our most vulnerable children this holiday season,” said Assemblywoman Rubio. “I would like to thank everyone who contributed and helped to accomplish this shared goal—one that is very dear to my heart.”

Nearly 300 toys were donated by businesses, city officials, and residents in the district. The district office will partner with various nonprofit organizations, including the Department of Children and Family Services to assist with the distribution of gifts throughout the district.

The 48th Assembly District, is comprised of the cities of Azusa, Baldwin Park, Bradbury, City of Industry, Covina, Duarte, El Monte, Glendora, Irwindale, Monrovia, West Covina, and the San Gabriel Valley unincorporated areas of Los Angeles County, including Bassett, Charter Oak, Citrus, East Arcadia, Ramona, Valinda and West La Puente.
