Assemblywoman Blanca E. Rubio Elected Chair of the San Gabriel Valley Legislative Caucus

SACRAMENTO, CA – Assemblywoman Blanca E. Rubio (D-Baldwin Park) was elected Chair of the San Gabriel Valley Legislative Caucus on a unanimous vote. She will succeed out going Chair, Senator Ed Hernández (D- West Covina) who termed out of the Legislature last year. Assemblyman Freddie Rodriguez (D- Pomona) will serve as the Caucus’s Vice Chair.

“It is a distinct honor to be elected Chair of the San Gabriel Valley Legislative Caucus,” said Assemblywoman Rubio. “The San Gabriel Valley faces unique challenges in the upcoming years in areas such as water, transportation, housing, the environment and economic development. My colleagues and I will work together to ensure the interests of our communities are well represented in Sacramento.”

Assemblywoman Rubio represents the 48th Assembly District, which is comprised of the cities of Azusa, Baldwin Park, Bradbury, City of Industry, Covina, Duarte, El Monte, Glendora, Irwindale, Monrovia, West Covina, and the San Gabriel Valley unincorporated areas of Los Angeles County, including Bassett, Charter Oak, Citrus, East Arcadia, Ramona, Valinda and West La Puente.
