COVINA — Assemblywoman Blanca E. Rubio (D-Baldwin Park) hosted her 6th Annual Operation Gobble Turkey Giveaway from 10 am-12 pm on Sunday, November 20, 2022. The event took place at Charter Oak High School, located in the City of Covina. For the safety of our residents, drive-thru distribution was utilized. Constituents from across the 48th Assembly District lined up to receive a free turkey or voucher to contribute towards their Thanksgiving dinner.

“During this holiday season, many individuals struggle to account for everyday expenses, care for loved ones, and provide for their families. This year, we were able to distribute meals and vouchers to 3,000 households in our community; with the help and support of our extraordinary partners,” said Assemblywoman Rubio. “It is vital that we continue to provide resources that contribute towards the betterment of our residents, improve their quality of life, and combat food insecurity in California.”

Assemblywoman Rubio partnered with Foothill Unity, Charter Oak Unified School District, and the City of Covina to organize this event. Over 150 volunteers, dozens of organizations, and countless leaders donated their time and resources to support families in the area. Assemblywoman Rubio was honored to bring our community together and spread the holiday magic.

The 48th Assembly District is comprised of the cities of Azusa, Baldwin Park, Bradbury, City of Industry, Covina, Duarte, El Monte, Glendora, Irwindale, Monrovia, West Covina, and the San Gabriel Valley unincorporated areas of Los Angeles County, including Bassett, Charter Oak, Citrus, East Arcadia, Ramona, Valinda and West La Puente.
