Sacramento – California State Assembly Speaker Robert Rivas (AD-29) appointed Assemblwoman Blanca E. Rubio (D-Baldwin Park) as Chair of the California State Assembly Committee on Governmental Organization. The Govermental Organization Committee oversees pressing issues in the State and encompasses 21 members of the State Assembly.
"As a member of the committee for seven years, I look forward to leading in this capacity and coordinating with my colleagues to deliver for our constiuents across California". I appreciate the Speaker's confidence in my leadership and I am ready to continue addressing the issues that matter to our residents," said Assemblywoman Blanca E. Rubio (D-Bladwin Park).

Assemblymember Rubio also serves as the Chair of the Assembly Select Committee on Domestic Violence. In these roles, she passed bills like AB 2806, which effectively brings an end to preschool suspensions and expulsions, and AB 323, which protects access to local news by stabilizing outlets.
The 48th Assembly District is comprised of the cities of West Covina, Baldwin Park, Glendora, Covina, Azusa, West Puente Valley, Valinda, Duarte, South San Jose Hills, Vincent, Citrus, Charter Oak, South Monrovia Island, Mayflower Village, Irwindale, and Monrovia.
