Do you have a family member, or a neighbor, who is a Veteran? If so, they can now apply to have a special “VETERAN” designation on their driver license.
Veterans are often eligible for many benefits and discounts, such as those available from stores or restaurants. In the past, the only way to prove their military status has been through the use of a DD-214, which contains sensitive, personal information.
This new driver license feature makes it easier and safer for former service members who need to show their eligibility for benefits and discounts.
If you are a veteran or know someone who has served in the military, please visit the California Department of Motor Vehicles website at: www.dmv.ca.gov for instructions on how to apply.
If I can be of assistance to you on this or any other state matter, please do not hesitate to contact my District Office at (626) 960-4457.
