For the third year in a row, California is offering an Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) for working low-income families and individuals. This year, the eligibility thresholds were lowered so that more people could qualify.

If you qualify for the CA EITC and the amount of the credit is greater than the tax you owe, you will receive a refund.

State government is organized into several dozen departments, most of which have been grouped together into a smaller number of agencies. The vast majority of state government agencies and departments are headquartered in Sacramento or in parts of Sacramento County, but most of the larger agencies and departments also have local offices around the state. All are designed to provide services to, or otherwise assist, the residents of our state. Following are links to the websites of some important state offices.

The CA FAIR Plan was designed to offer basic property insurance for all Californians who cannot access coverage in the voluntary insurance marketplace. The FAIR Plan was established by statute to provide a temporary safety net for consumers who need fire insurance until coverage through the voluntary market is available. Please visit the CA Fair Plan website for information and to make claims as needed.
